On Tuesday 28 May there will be an official strike of all public transport in The Netherlands; trains, busses, trams, metros and ferries will not be driving from 5AM Tuesday until 5AM Wednesday.
The strike will cause a lot of inconvenience for all travellers. It will cause traffic jams and long waiting times for taxis and the Hotel Shuttle bus. Please keep this in mind if you need to be somewhere on time!
From Schiphol airport
You can reach our hotel from Schiphol airport by different means of transport.
- By taxi: the costs are approximately €55,00 and it takes roughly 30 minutes. Remind yourself to take a taxi from the designated taxi waiting area.
- With the Connexxion Airport Hotel Shuttle: the costs are € 18,50 for a single ticket and €29,50 for a return ticket. Tickets are available from their office at arrival hall 4.
- By public transport: You can go by train to Amsterdam Central Station. The costs are € 4,50 for a single ticket and takes roughly 15 minutes. From Amsterdam Central Station you can walk for approx. 8 minutes. Follow the Damrak, take the first street after the water left and then take the first street right. The hotel is located on your left hand side. It could be interesting to buy a combination ticket for both train and tram on the page of Discover Holland.
XO Hotels City Centre’s location is in the middle of the centre of Amsterdam. Check Google Maps to plan the directions.
We do not have a park house at the hotel, but parking is possible at the Q-Park-park house ‘De Bijenkorf’ (€50 per day), or through the hotel with Hotel Parking.
To the RAI
From the hotel, you walk to Amsterdam Central Station (approximately 7 minutes). From Amsterdam Central Station, you can take metro 52 (direction Station Zuid). Your stop is Metrostation Europaplein.
From 1 January 2018 the LEZ (low emission zone) starts in Amsterdam for coaches and busses older than 1-1-2005. This means that it is not possible to drive inside of the Ring A10 with a bus or coach older than 2005. This is also valid for busses and coaches with a foreign license plate. It is not possible to ask for an exemption.
If you are driving a bus/coach build after 2005 , you are allowed to drive within the Ring A10.
